Epilogue

Chip was found the next morning still dangling from the crane. He was fired before he ever hit the ground and was taken straight to jail. He refused the plea deal, and the case went to court. Chip hired a superstar lawyer who is best known for making sure people with power never see punishment for sexual assault and also happens to be close personal friends with the president. The best they could come up with was the “nice guy” defense. I’m no legal expert, but the jury was less than impressed. He’s appealed the ruling, and the president has even talked about his case regularly. I hope he can find real rehabilitation, but either way, as things stand now, he’s going to have to register as a sex offender and introduce himself to all his neighbors.

Coven of Hags did end up performing a ritual that night after all. According to them, it’s supposed to protect us. The police haven’t had anything besides questions since then, which they insist proves that the ritual worked. I don’t accept negative evidence as proof of anything, so I still don’t believe in magic. That said… I do appreciate when witches point their protection spells in my direction. I’m definitely not complaining.

Brooke has gone from seamstress to a full-blown rock-and-roll legend in her own right. Nikki and the rest of the band fell in love with Brooke’s style and hired her on as the band’s official costume designer. Their new look has generated a lot of interest in Brooke’s work, catapulting her career in the music and film industry. When she’s done working on the next Coven of Hags farewell tour the world is her oyster. For the uninitiated, when it comes to rock and roll, “farewell” is more of a vibe than a commitment.

Paige was actually fired before Chip was. Thor’n called the company’s bluff and offered her legal services. Wrongful termination, retaliation, and sexual harassment were just a few of the claims they settled. The payout was monumental, and Paige has put the money to good use. She’s started her own independent HR consulting firm focusing on equity and combating sexual harassment. She also opened a bakery for Ana and herself to run together and has started writing her own romance novels in her limited free time. Despite being so busy and important, our favorite toy still makes time for us to this day.

As for Ana and me, well, as you know our legend continues.
